Cross River Rail – Brisbane CBD

MK Drilling was engaged to deliver complex geotechnical investigations for the $5.4 billion Cross River Rail project. Our team carried out geotechnical drilling whilst overcoming challenging ground conditions to provide critical data for tunnel alignment and station design. The works ensured safe and accurate planning for one of Queensland’s largest infrastructure projects.

Borumbra Pumped Hydro Project – Gympie Region

As part of early site investigations for the Borumba Hydro project, MK Drilling conducted detailed borehole drilling and core sampling. Our work provided essential geological data to guide infrastructure and civil design work. The successful completion of these works supported Queensland’s transition to renewable energy.

Inland Rail – SEQ Corridor

MK Drilling delivered geotechnical drilling services along the Inland Rail corridor to support design and construction of this nationally significant freight project. Our crews worked across multiple remote sites providing adequate soil and core sampling to strict safety and environmental standards. The results provided the foundation for rail alignment and bridge design.

Lismore Flood Regeneration Works – Lismore City Council

Following the floods in Northern NSW, MK Drilling partnered with local geotechnical engineering consultants under the Lismore City Council , this was to provide geotechnical drilling and slope stability investigations as part of the region’s regeneration program. Our team responded to assess multiple landslide sites, delivering ground data that guided remediation and reconstruction efforts. These works were vital in restoring safe access and supporting community recovery.

Sunshine Coast Rail Duplication – Transport & Main Roads

Working with Transport and Main Roads, MK Drilling is currently undertaking extensive geotechnical investigations for the proposed Sunshine Coast rail duplication and new train line. We are engaged in drilling boreholes across urban and semi-rural sites. This is to assess ground stability and subsurface conditions. This data is critical in shaping future transport infrastructure for the growing Sunshine Coast region.
